In these
difficult economic times its gratifying to have a loyal group of customers,
some of whom have been dining at Malbec since we first opened for business
some three years ago. We continue to cook good food at affordable prices
and are proud of the fact that the revered Michelin Guide has recently awarded Malbec ‘Bib Gourmand’ status. However we are also
pleased to say that our feet are firmly on the ground and we have some
great offers available for the summer.

Food for
thought
This has been
a great year for asparagus as the rather damp spring produced juicy stalks
with a wonderful delicate flavour. We can now look forward to cooking with
our own English peas, beans and other summer vegetables. Coming into season
now are strawberries, gooseberries and other soft fruits which, although
hard to believe, have received just the right amount of sun to bring out
their full flavours and its great to be able to source local strawberries
from Hereford.
Sometimes it’s hard to realise just how lucky we are to be situated
in beautiful Warwickshire with its lush pastureland that really does
produce outstanding beef and lamb. The lovely flavour and texture of our
meat is the result of excellent grazing and husbandry by local farms within
the area. Although our free-range pork is reared further a field in Suffolk
by Jimmy Butler, we believe there is no finer pork for flavour. Throughout
the summer we will be serving native Cornish Lobster and other fresh caught
seasonal fish
Wine for pleasure
Our love of wine it seems is so far surprising the economic
doom and gloom merchants with sales still bucking the trend and going up.
However, how many times have you been out dining with friends and pondering
whether or not you could drink a whole bottle of desirable wine on your own,
as you are the only person who fancies red. Well ponder no more as Malbec
has come up with the answer, by way of an ingenious solution that enables
us to now offer our customers some of those desirable wines by the glass.
In fact we will shortly be offering you up to 20 stunning white and red
wines by the glass for you to savour and devour at your pleasure.

Congratulations to our Chef
proprietor Simon Malin who competed recently in the Chef Of The
Year competition at the NEC in Birmingham and reached the final eight.
Events
We will be welcoming Sabrina
Bosca from Argentina to Malbec on 17th July for the first
time. Sabrina will be showcasing some of her superb collection of Malbec
wines, which will be accompanied by a special 3-course A la carte meal for
£45, reservations by advance booking only
